We are currently recruiting Maths Lit educators that would like to volunteer to be involved in workshops to author this textbook. It will be released under an open copyright licence, be freely and openly available for all learners and educators to access, use, share and adapt, plus be freely available online and via mobile phone! This is in response to an overwhelming need for a high quality, curriculum aligned Maths Lit textbook.
Sign up here and help us author a Maths Lit textbook similar to Everything Maths and Everything Science. It will have its own website and be embedded with relevant educational rich-media, making for a well rounded learning experience.
Siyavula’s openly licensed Grade 10 – 12 Maths and Physical Science textbooks have been printed by the Department of Basic Education, for free distribution across South Africa. This means that every single learner in a government school that is taking Maths and / or Physical Science in Grades 10 – 12 will receive a copy of our textbooks, paid for by the Department of Basic Education. This is hugely exciting for Siyavula, but also for the world of open educational resources – as far as we know, this is a world first.
