Get started on the new Siyavula online practice service

The Siyavula team have been working hard at creating an online practice service which is tightly integrated with the textbooks. Learners are now able to practise exam style questions from the comfort of their own computers. Note: these instructions apply to users using the service through a regular browser. Mobile and MXit instructions are coming soon!

 Step 1:  Register with us.

You can sign up for the free trial by clicking on the “premium services” toolbar on the right hand side of the screen. Your free trial will allow for unlimited practice of the first few chapters in grade 10 Maths or Science. If you have already registered your login will work for both www.everythingmaths.co.za and www.everythingscience.co.za. You will see the “login” button on the top right of your screen, it will ask for your password and if you don’t remember it you can ask for it to be sent to your email address.

Step 2: Intelligent practice

Once you have registered and logged in, and your name is displayed in the top right hand corner, you are ready to practice. By clicking on the “premium services” toolbar on the right hand side of the page, you will have access to the intelligent practice service.

Step 3: Your dashboard

The dashboard is where all your previous practice has been recorded. Select which chapter you would like to work on and “start practising”. You can return  to your dashboard at any point to see how you are making progress, or to select a new chapter to practise.

Step 4: Practise, practise and practise

The multitude of available questions are similar to those you may expect in your end of year exams. You will need to work out the answer using pen and paper and only input your final solution. When you are happy with your final answer select “Check”.

Step 5: Model solutions

Compare your working with the model solution. Make sure you have followed all the steps which are now shown to you. These model solutions are similar to the worked examples in the Siyavula textbooks, if you are struggling with the questions it would be helpful to review the relevant section in the textbook.

Practise the entire curriculum for your grade

If you wish to unlock all the chapters for your specific grade and subject you can do so at any time. By clicking on the “premium services” toolbar and selecting order you can subscribe to the full year of service for a once off fee of only R150.

We value your feedback!

We are continuously striving to create, develop and improve the Siyavula services we offer to learners and teachers. Please help us by giving feedback. We have created a quick and easy questionnaire, after using the trial, please spare 2 minutes to fill it out.

Thank you for always supporting us and being part of our great community.

is there anything similar to this in the pipeline for gr 8 and 9?

    • Carine

      Hi Irene,
Yes, grd 8 and 9 are the logical next steps for us. There is nothing on the cards yet but definitely the direction in which we wish move. We do have workbooks available in digital formats for these grades but they are very raw material and need lots of work. I can send you these on a CD? Would you be interested in joining our community and being involved when we do start the textbooks for the younger grades?

      Best
